🎄 Key Highlights
- A network of festive “Christmas Villages” will operate across eight Cypriot communities (Agros, Deryneia, Kakopetria, Kalopanagiotis, Kyperounta, Lefkara, Statos–Agios Fotios and Fikardou) from 22 November 2025 until 6 January 2026.
 - Major city-markets:
- The long-running “Traditional Christmas Market 2025” at Forest Beach, Dhekelia Rd, Pyla (near Larnaca) is scheduled for 5-7 December 2025.
 - The “German Christmas Fayre 2025” in Nicosia takes place Sunday, 7 December 2025 at Eleftheria Square.
 - A seaside market: “Sensational Christmas Market” at SENSE by the Beach (Potima Bay, Kissonerga, Paphos region) on 10 December 2025 (free entry).

📍 What to Expect
- The village markets aim to combine scenic locations (mountain or historic villages) with wooden chalets, local crafts, traditional foods, workshops (crafting, wine-gastronomy), and nature activities (hiking, cycling) in the “Heartland of Legends” route.
 - The Pyla Larnaca market: over 200 stalls with gifts, decorations, festive treats; children’s activities (Santa visits, workshops); adult entrance fee (approx €2.50) while children under 12 enter free with adult.
 - The Nicosia German Fayre: free entrance, live music, German-style food & drink (sausages, glühwein etc), kids’ crafts/photo with Santa.

✅ Why It’s Worth Visiting
- It offers a mix of classic Christmas-market ambience (lights, crafts, mulled wine) with Cypriot local flavour (villages, nature, local produce).
 - The village markets are spread across the island, so one can combine market visits with exploring the countryside, historic villages, and nature.
 - Many of the big markets are early December, so you’ll get the festive mood without the heavy crowds of mainland European markets.
 - Family-friendly: many markets have children’s programmes (crafts, Santa visits) and festive food.

⚠️ Tips & Considerations
- If visiting the village markets: check exact opening days and times — the schedule mentions weekends/public holidays from 22 Nov to 21 Dec, then daily from 22 Dec to 6 Jan.
 - For vehicles and weather: if going to mountainous villages (e.g., Kakopetria, Kyperounta) it may be colder and slippery; ensure your travel plans take into account that winter weather may appear.
 - Entry fees: some markets like Pyla/Larnaca charge for adults; others (like Nicosia) are free.
 - Transport: Many village markets may require driving; public transport might be limited in rural areas.
 - Shop & dining hours: Some smaller businesses/restaurants may have reduced hours or close on major holidays (e.g., Dec 24/25).
 - If you want the fullest selection of stalls and activities, aim for early December (e.g., first full weekend of December) at city markets, and then mid-to-late December for village markets.
