By GoVisitCyprus.com · Information checked against Kapnos Airport Shuttle's website and Cyprus transport sources in October 2026
Kapnos Airport Shuttle is Cyprus's best-known scheduled airport bus operator. Kapnos describes itself as the largest private passenger transport company on the island, with over 100 scheduled daily routes linking Larnaca International Airport (LCA) and Paphos International Airport (PFO) with Nicosia, Ayia Napa, Protaras and each other. Instead of paying for a taxi or private transfer, you buy a single seat on a fixed departure at a fixed per-person price.
This guide explains what Kapnos does and does not cover, what each route is estimated to cost, how long it typically takes, and how to buy tickets. It also covers Limassol and Larnaca city, which work differently, so you don't plan around a bus that doesn't exist.
Verify before you buy: Kapnos changes timetables and fares by season and demand, and its booking system generates times per date. Prices below are labelled estimated where sources differ or are not from the current booking engine. Check the latest timetable and fare on the Kapnos website before purchasing tickets.

Larnaca International Airport (LCA)
Larnaca is the island's busiest airport and the hub of the Kapnos network. The Kapnos counter is in the arrivals hall near the Bus Exit, and the bus stop is directly outside the terminal. Pre-booked passengers can go straight to the stop; you can also buy a ticket at the counter, subject to availability.
| Destination | Journey time | Estimated fare | Frequency and hours | Where you get off |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ayia Napa | 45–55 min | From €13 | Daily, first 02:30 (Fridays 04:00), last 23:25 (Kapnos, 2026) | Ayia Napa Square (Arch. Makariou III 19); Nissi Avenue 80, by Sunwing Sandy Bay |
| Protaras | About 65 min | €15; child €5; infants free | Daily, 02:30 to 23:25 (Kapnos, 2026) | Pernera Avenue; Protaras Avenue (McDonald's stop) |

Where to buy tickets
Book online through the Kapnos booking system up to about 60 minutes before departure, buy at the Kapnos counter in Larnaca arrivals, or at the Nicosia station counters. Kapnos recommends booking ahead, particularly from June to August, and it says it prices some departures dynamically, so the cheapest fares go first.
Paphos International Airport (PFO)
Paphos is the second Kapnos airport. The shared shuttle links it to the Kapnos station in Nicosia and to Larnaca Airport, and Kapnos expanded these timetables in June 2026, including more Paphos–Larnaca services and extra connections serving Ayia Napa and Protaras via Larnaca.
- Paphos Airport ↔ Nicosia: typically around 100 minutes. The most recent fare we could find (March 2026) was €18 one-way, while an older university travel page listed €15, so treat €15–€18 as an estimated price. As of March 2026 there were typically about three departures a day; the June 2026 expansion should mean more, so check the timetable.
- Paphos Airport ↔ Larnaca Airport: available, but we could not verify the current fare, journey time or departure list. Check the booking system.
- Families: Kapnos says children up to 12 travel free on services to and from Paphos Airport.
- Paphos town and Coral Bay: Kapnos's own overview mentions transfer services to these areas, but we could not verify a scheduled shared route. For door-to-door travel, ask Kapnos about a private transfer, or use a taxi or local bus from the airport.
- Pickup and drop-off: we could not verify the exact stop position at Paphos Airport, so follow Kapnos's instructions in your booking confirmation.
- Christmas Day: Kapnos has historically run no services to or from Paphos Airport on 25 December, so check holiday schedules if you travel then.
Nicosia
Nicosia has no commercial airport, so most travellers use Larnaca. The Kapnos shuttle takes about 40–50 minutes and terminates at the Kapnos station on Kyrenias Avenue in Aglandjia, near the Police Headquarters. It is not in the central pedestrian area, so you will need a short taxi or local bus to reach most hotels.
- Larnaca Airport ↔ Nicosia: estimated €9–€10 per adult, roughly hourly departures, tickets online or at the airport counter.
- Paphos Airport ↔ Nicosia: about 100 minutes, estimated €15–€18, fewer departures than Larnaca.
- Station facilities: Kapnos says the Nicosia station operates 24 hours, with ticket counters, luggage weighing and boarding-pass printing, plus free parking for shuttle passengers.
- Heading to the airport: travel to the Kapnos station by taxi or bus, then board. Allow time for that first leg.
Limassol
Kapnos does not appear to run a scheduled shared route to Limassol, so don't count on one. The direct scheduled option from Larnaca Airport is the separate Limassol Airport Express, which Cyprus Mail (September 2026) lists at about €10 for adults and €5 for children, with a journey of roughly 50–75 minutes. Check that operator's own timetable, and note that older traveller reports say seats cannot be reserved in advance.
- Cheapest, slower alternative: take a public bus from the airport into Larnaca, then the intercity bus to Limassol. Older traveller guides put this at about €5.50 in total and well over an hour and a half, so confirm current fares and times.
- Door-to-door: a taxi or pre-booked private transfer costs roughly €70–€90 according to Cyprus Mail (September 2026). Kapnos also offers private transfers on request.
- Paphos Airport to Limassol: we could not verify a Kapnos route. Check local buses or arrange a taxi or private transfer.
Larnaca
If you are staying in Larnaca town, you don't need Kapnos. The airport is about 7 km from the centre, and the public bus is the cheapest option.
- Public bus: Cyprus Public Transport line 425 (and other lines such as 429) serves the airport. Reported fare is about €1.50 for adults. Line 425 has been reported to run about every 20 minutes between roughly 06:30 and 23:50, with about 25 minutes to Finikoudes. These are typical figures, so check the current timetable.
- Taxi: metered and available at the airport at all hours, and usually a short ride.
- Kapnos: useful for Larnaca travellers mainly if you are continuing to Nicosia, Ayia Napa or Protaras.
Ayia Napa
The Larnaca–Ayia Napa shuttle takes about 45–55 minutes along the A3 motorway, with one-way fares starting from an estimated €13 per adult. Kapnos runs departures through the day, with seasonal expansion in summer. You board outside the terminal and get off at Ayia Napa Square or Nissi Avenue, then walk or take a short taxi to your hotel. Door-to-door drop-off is only available as a private transfer. Book ahead in peak season.
Protaras
Kapnos serves Protaras and Pernera with two fixed stops, about 65 minutes from Larnaca Airport at an estimated €15 per adult. For stop details, the return journey and booking tips, read our dedicated guide to the Kapnos Airport Shuttle between Protaras, Ayia Napa and Larnaca Airport.
Tickets, luggage and cancellations
- Luggage: one large suitcase up to 20 kg plus one piece of hand luggage per standard ticket. Extra or oversized items only if space allows, so contact Kapnos first.
- Pets: Kapnos says small pets travel free in an airline-approved crate.
- Child seats: not supplied on shared services. Contact Kapnos if you plan to bring your own.
- On board: most vehicles have air conditioning and Wi-Fi, and many have USB charging.
- Cancellations: Kapnos's pages are inconsistent. The homepage promises free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure, while its route guides mention a €1 per-ticket fee. Read the terms at checkout.
- Holiday periods: Kapnos has published special schedules around Christmas and New Year, including earlier last departures on 31 December. Check before travelling over the holidays.
Kapnos shuttle vs taxi or private transfer
| Route | Kapnos shared shuttle (estimated) | Taxi / private transfer (estimated) |
|---|---|---|
| Larnaca Airport to Nicosia | About €9–€10 | €55–€75 |
| Larnaca Airport to Ayia Napa | From €13 | €50–€70 |
| Larnaca Airport to Protaras | €15 | €60–€80 |
| Larnaca Airport to Limassol | Not a verified Kapnos route (Limassol Airport Express about €10) | €70–€90 |
| Paphos Airport to Nicosia | Estimated €15–€18 | Roughly €120–€140 (March 2026 report) |
Taxi figures are from Cyprus Mail (September 2026) and a March 2026 institutional travel page. Actual taxi prices depend on vehicle, time and exact address.
Who is the shuttle best for?
- Budget travellers and solo visitors: the biggest savings versus a taxi.
- Families: good value, especially on Paphos routes where children up to 12 are free, but remember there are no child seats.
- Couples: a simple, predictable option if you don't mind a short walk or taxi from the stop.
- Late arrivals or door-to-door needs: consider a private transfer or taxi instead.

Sources and accuracy note
This guide draws on Kapnos Airport Shuttle's website and published route articles (June 2026), Cyprus Mail reporting and its Larnaca Airport guide (June and September 2026), and third-party travel pages for fares and times Kapnos does not publish as static text. Kapnos's live timetable and fare calculator could not be read here, so exact departure times for most routes are intentionally not listed. Where sources disagree, we show a range and label it as an estimate. Always verify the latest timetable and fare with the operator before purchasing tickets.
